Upon gaining admission, you are required to complete a 4.5 years classroom training, and a one year Internship training. Upon completion of these, and passing all the necessary certification Exams, you will earn a MBBS degree which means that you are now a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.
This MBBS degree qualifies you to be called a Doctor, but not to practice as a Doctor in India. To therefore Practice as a Doctor, you must complete a Post graduate program either MS, MD or PGDM which will enable you to specialize in a Particular area of Medicine.
